HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-cx0056wm
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello!, i have this old laptop HP pavilion 15 cx0056wm, been awhile since i last used it and as i was rummaging on the list of updates from softwares and drivers i saw that the intel uhd 630 has a newer version (31.0.101.2135) than what is currently installed on the laptop 26.20.100.6911 (from 2019). should I still update it to the newest version or keep the old firmware?

@Psilocybin360, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-cx0056wm.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

New drivers usually fix bugs, improve security, and work better with new apps.

Intel lists version 31.0.101.2135 as the latest driver for UHD 630 (works on 7th–10th gen Intel CPUs).
Microsoft also shows the same version as the current display driver for Windows 10/11.

For your laptop (HP Pavilion Gaming 15-cx0056wm), check HP’s driver page:

HP Drivers & Software

After selecting your Windows version, scroll to the Graphics/Video section to see which Intel driver HP recommends.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi Meg! as per my laptop's support page its listed

  • Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver (Windows 10 v1903)

  • 25.20.100.6577 Rev.A
  • May 10, 2019

so, I would assume it's safe to update with the latest one from intel's page since the one from hp is already outdated?
