Hi @Orionaolini120,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Webcam issues on HP laptops are often due to a missing driver, privacy settings, or simply being disabled. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get your integrated webcam working again:

1. Check Privacy Switch or Shutter

Some HP laptops have a physical privacy shutter or key combination (e.g., Fn + F6, Fn + F8).

  • Make sure the privacy switch is open, or the camera is unlocked.
  • If there's a keyboard icon with a slash, press it or use the appropriate Fn + key combination.

2. Verify Windows Privacy Settings

  1. Go to Settings → Privacy & security → Camera.
  2. Make sure Camera access is On.
  3. Scroll down and ensure the app you're using (like Zoom or Camera) has permission.

3. Update or Reinstall Webcam Driver

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Cameras or Imaging devices
    • If your webcam isn’t listed, go to View → Show hidden devices.
  3. Right-click the webcam:
    • Select Update driver → Choose Search automatically.
    • If not found or still not working, choose Uninstall device, then restart your laptop. Windows will reinstall the driver on reboot.

4. Use Windows Troubleshooter

  1. Go to Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters.
  2. Run the Camera troubleshooter and follow any suggested fixes.

5. Update via HP Support

Visit the Official HP® Support site and enter your exact laptop model to download the webcam driver:

  • Go to HP Support → Drivers & Software → enter model.

Install any available Camera or Integrated Webcam driver listed.

6. Restart and Test

After making changes:

  • Restart your laptop.
  • Open the Camera app or your meeting software to test the webcam.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
