HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-e2000 (2J4V9AV)

hi everyone,  aaru here

I recently buy a hp laptop/notebook in 2021 and after using it for around 8 months I noticing some issue like laptop battery drains more when its in hibernation mode which it goes automatically after some time when it in sleep mode and its battery drainage percentage is not in proper descending order like 100 to 99 , 98 97 ,etc it goes like 100 to 93 , 89 ,etc then I contact hp online customer support and they tell me to do  battery driver uninstallation & installation then do battery calibration I do it but issue still have  then they tell me to do BIOS update but after updating I got new issues like when I put laptop in sleep mode its restart not turn on normally sometimes its restart suddenly when I using it showing a window 'your pc ran into a problem ' it stuck for sometime then start I contact customer support again and tell the issues then they again tell me to update BIOS but issue didn't resolve then they tell me to hard reset the laptop and reinstall windows but issues are still there then I try to restore BIOS version to default (because I read on a community post that updating BIOS is sometime create problems )but I didn't then I visit hp service centre and they tell me you need to change battery or  motherboard  but when I visit my laptop warranty expire and these replacement cost more than my current laptop worth.

If anyone have solution please help

thank you

Hi @aaru_88,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP 15.6 Inch Laptop PC after a BIOS update. BIOS updates can sometimes cause compatibility issues or introduce bugs that can affect the system's stability or performance. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem.

  • Power cycle your laptop: Turn off your laptop, unplug the power adapter, remove the battery (if it's removable), and hold the power button for about 15 seconds. Then reinsert the battery (if applicable), connect the power adapter, and turn on the laptop again.
  • Roll back the BIOS update: If the issues started immediately after the BIOS update, try reverting to the previous version of the BIOS. Visit the HP support website and search for your laptop model to find instructions and the previous BIOS version available for download. Follow the provided instructions to roll back the BIOS.
  • Reset BIOS settings: Enter the BIOS setup utility (usually by pressing a key like F2 or Delete during startup), and look for an option to reset the BIOS settings to their default values. Save the changes and exit the BIOS. This can help resolve any configuration conflicts that may have arisen from the BIOS update.
  • Update drivers: Sometimes, BIOS updates require corresponding driver updates to work correctly. Visit the HP support website, enter your laptop model, and download the latest drivers available, especially for critical components like the chipset, graphics, and network adapters.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
