If your notebook came with a single 8 GB memory chip and has an Intel core processor you may want to add a second memory chip to increase the memory to 16 GB and have the memory run in the higher performing dual channel mode.

 

For a drive you can install a Samsung 980 1 TB and use the Samsung magician software with that drive.

 

I just bought the Samsung 980 PCIe 3.0 1 TB NVMe SSD for my HP 800 G3 DM desktop PC and installed the Samsung magician software and it is fully supported.

 

I don't use the software very much, but it works.

Okay, thank you very much for your help. I intend to go along with these ideas, but my PC has an 11th generation Intel Core i3 processor, and it currently has two RAM sticks, each with a capacity of 4 GB. I'm likely considering upgrading the NVMe SSD to a 1TB model and increasing the total RAM capacity to 16 GB. However, I'm wondering if these modifications are compatible with the i3 processor.
