Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Can't get laptop to recognize iphone when I plug it into the usb port.  I've tried everything that I can to no avail.  Thanks

Same problem happens with Android phones and Windows 10.  This is a driver issue, and since HP does not supply drivers for Apple devices, you will have to contact Apple Support for this problem.
