Hi @AkashChandra,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it can feel when the laptop becomes slow and unresponsive, especially when even simple tasks start taking longer than usual. A factory reset can definitely help refresh the system and remove any software-related slowdown by reinstalling Windows cleanly.

Before proceeding, please make sure to back up any important files, photos, or documents, as a factory reset can remove personal data depending on the option selected.

Please follow these steps to perform the factory reset:

  1. Click on Start and open Settings.
  2. Go to System > Recovery.
  3. Under Reset this PC, click Reset PC.
  4. Choose one of the following options:
    • Keep my files – Reinstalls Windows while keeping personal files.
    • Remove everything – Fully resets the laptop and removes all personal data and apps.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to continue the reset process.

If Windows is too slow to load normally or you cannot access Settings, you can also reset the laptop from the HP Recovery environment:

  1. Turn the laptop OFF completely.
  2. Turn it back ON and immediately tap the F11 key repeatedly.
  3. Select Troubleshoot.
  4. Choose Reset this PC and follow the prompts.

Please keep the charger connected throughout the reset process to avoid interruptions.

If you run into any error messages during the reset or the process does not complete, let us know, and we’ll continue helping from there.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
