HP Recommended

Dear HP Technical Support Team,

I am writing to inquire about the functionality of the HP Battery Health Manager (BHM) on my laptop.

Device Details:

  • Model: HP ProBook 455 G7 Notebook PC (5CD140105T)

  • Operating System: [Windows 11 Pro24H2]

  • Current BIOS Version: [BIOS Version/Date HP S79 Ver. 01.22.00, 6/25/2025

Issue Description:

I have enabled the Maximize my battery health setting in the BIOS to limit the battery's charge level and extend its lifespan.

  • Expected Behavior: With this setting active, I expect the battery to stop charging at approximately 80% (or show a limited charge percentage in the Windows system tray).

  • Actual Behavior: The battery continues to charge to, and display, 100% in the Windows system tray and in HP Support Assistant. It does not appear to be limiting the charge as expected for the "Maximize my battery health" setting.

Steps I Have Already Taken:

  1. I have confirmed I am running the latest BIOS version available for my ProBook 455 G7.

  2. I have entered the BIOS and confirmed the Battery Health Manager is set to Maximize my battery health.
