I want to know if the power management feature is working in Windows 11. I enabled the feature in the BIOS, but the charging indicator shows 100%.

Hi @ellouzy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Sorry for the inconvenience caused and don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Which HP model are you using?
  • Did you enable a specific “Battery Health Manager” or “Adaptive Battery Optimizer” setting in the BIOS?
  • Are you using the original HP charger and adapter?

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try in the meantime:

  • Check HP Support Assistant: Open HP Support Assistant in Windows and see if the battery health feature is recognized there.
  • Verify BIOS settings: Sometimes the BIOS has multiple battery care options (e.g., “Maximize Battery Health” vs. “Let Battery Charge Fully”). Double-check that the correct one is selected.
  • Update BIOS and drivers: Make sure your BIOS and chipset drivers are up to date from HP’s support site. Outdated firmware can cause the feature not to sync properly with Windows.
  • Battery calibration: Fully discharge the battery until the laptop shuts down, then recharge it to 100%. This can help Windows correctly report the battery percentage.
  • Windows power settings: In Windows 11, check under Settings > System > Power & Battery to confirm if any custom charging thresholds are available or active

I hope this helps.
