Can I add mcafee total protection to my laptop with the pre-installed HP Wolf Security Software? Would the two softwares cause a conflict or not?

Thanks

Hi @nov45 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

HP Wolf Security is a suite of security features that includes various protections such as antivirus, firewall, and browsing security. McAfee Total Protection is another antivirus software that provides similar features.

In general, it's not recommended to run multiple antivirus programs simultaneously on a computer. Having multiple antivirus programs can lead to conflicts and performance issues because they may interfere with each other's operations. Additionally, running multiple antivirus programs simultaneously may not provide any additional benefit in terms of security.

Here are a few recommendations:

Check the documentation: Look at the documentation or support resources for both HP Wolf Security and McAfee Total Protection. The documentation may provide information on compatibility and whether it's recommended to run both programs on the same system.

Choose one antivirus program: It's usually best to choose one comprehensive antivirus solution for your computer. If you have confidence in both HP Wolf Security and McAfee, you could choose either one and disable the other.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
