@alfa57x,

Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check Physical Mute Button:

  • Make sure the mute button isn't physically stuck. Gently press it a few times to see if it releases.

Restart Your Laptop:

  • Restart your HP Envy 360 to see if the issue resolves itself.

Disable Mute in Sound Settings:

  • Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar.
  • Click on "Open Sound settings."
  • Under "Output," make sure the sound isn't muted.

Check Keyboard Shortcuts:

  • Some HP laptops use function keys (F1-F12) for mute controls.
  • Press "Fn" + "F8" (or other F keys depending on your laptop model) to toggle mute on/off.

Uninstall and Reinstall Audio Drivers:

  • Press Windows Key + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the "Sound, video and game controllers" section.
  • Right-click on your audio device and select Uninstall Device.
  • Restart your laptop. Windows should reinstall the audio driver automatically.

Update the BIOS:

  • Go to the HP Support website.
  • Enter your laptop model (HP Envy 360) and check if there’s a BIOS update available.
  • Download and install the latest BIOS update, as it might fix hardware issues like stuck buttons.

Check for Malware:

  • Run a full antivirus scan to ensure there's no malware causing issues with your keyboard or system functions.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
