Hi @AVANTHIKA2002,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  1. Does the camera appear at all in Device Manager (under “Imaging devices” or “Cameras”) or is it completely missing?
  2. Are you getting any error messages when trying to use apps like Camera or Zoom?
  3. Have you recently installed Windows updates, or is this happening right out of the box?
  4. Are you on Windows 10 or 11?

Troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Check Device Manager

  • Press Windows + X → Device Manager
  • Look for Cameras or Imaging Devices
  • If it’s there but has a yellow triangle, right-click → Update driver
  • If it’s missing, click View → Show hidden devices

2. Enable Camera in BIOS

Some HP laptops allow enabling/disabling the camera in BIOS.

  • Restart → press Esc → F10 for BIOS setup
  • Look under Device Configuration or Integrated Peripherals
  • Make sure the camera is Enabled

3. Check Windows Privacy Settings

  • Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera
  • Ensure Camera access for this device is On
  • Allow apps like Zoom, Teams, or Camera app to access the camera

4. Update or Reinstall Camera Driver

  • Go to HP Support → enter your laptop model
  • Download the latest HP Camera driver
  • Install it, then restart

5. Run HP Support Assistant

  • Open HP Support Assistant → Troubleshooting → Run Hardware Diagnostic for Camera
  • This can detect hidden or disabled camera issues

I hope this helps
