@jonaed_sumon, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your touchpad suddenly stops working, you can try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Restart the Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches. Make sure to save any work before restarting your device.

Enable the Touchpad: Check if the touchpad is disabled.

Check Touchpad Settings:

  • Go to Settings, select Devices, then Touchpad.
  • Ensure that the touchpad is enabled and any custom settings are correctly configured.

Update or Roll Back Drivers:

  • Open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start button and selecting Device Manager.
  • Expand the Mice and other pointing devices section.
  • Right-click on your touchpad device and select Update driver and follow the prompts. If the issue started after an update, you might want to try rolling back the driver.

Install HP Support Assistant:

  • You can use the HP Support Assistant application to check for drivers’ availability and hardware diagnostics. You can download it from the HP website here.

Check Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows operating system is up to date, as updates often include fixes for hardware issues. Go to Settings, select Update & Security, then Windows Update.

Check Physical Condition: Ensure there is no dirt or physical obstruction on the touchpad surface.

Perform a System Restore: If you recently installed software or updates, try reverting to a previous system state using System Restore.
