Hello
Please fix the software bug. I have to reset the fan behavior every time [Smart Sense: What a terrible mode!] The fan is too loud. I just want the Balanced mode, and it should remember the selection.

Hi @BesuzaniK,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the myHP app on your HP Spectre x360 16-aa0xxx. I understand how frustrating it can be to have to reconfigure your fan settings every time you restart—especially when Smart Sense isn't meeting your needs.
This issue looks like it's related to a bug in the recent version of the myHP app, where thermal profile preferences (like Balanced mode) are not retained after reboot, even though other settings (like touchpad options) are saved correctly.
Recommended Steps:
- Reset or reinstall the MyHP App:
- Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
- Select MyHP, click Advanced Options > Reset.
- If that doesn’t help, uninstall and reinstall it from the Microsoft Store – myHP.
- Update BIOS and Drivers:
- Visit the HP Spectre x360 16-aa0xxx Drivers Page and enter your exact model.
- Install the latest BIOS, thermal management, and system utility drivers.
- Submit Feedback to HP:
- Open the myHP app, go to Settings > Feedback, and report the issue directly.
- This helps HP prioritize a fix in future updates.
- Temporary Workaround:
- Until a fix is released, you may consider using HP Command Center (if available) to set thermal profiles or manually adjust fan settings via BIOS (if supported).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
