Hi @flower1966

Welcome to the HP Support Community! Thanks for posting your query!

We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing the details. Before we look for the right driver, I’d like to clarify a few points so we can isolate the issue properly:

  • Which exact HP notebook model are you using? (for example, HP Envy 15‑xxxx, HP Pavilion 17‑xxxx, etc.)
  • Which operating system build is installed on your machine (Windows 10 or Windows 11, and the version number if possible)?
  • When you say the camera no longer appears in Device Manager, do you see any “Unknown device” or “Imaging device” entries at all?
  • Did the camera stop working after a Windows update, BIOS update, or was it after you manually uninstalled the driver?
  • Have you tried checking the HP Support Assistant or HP App to see if the camera is detected there?

Once I know these details, I can guide you to the correct driver package or alternative fix. Could you share this information so we can narrow down the right solution?

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
