HP G72-b15SA Notebook PC

I have followed all the trails to update my BIOS so enable me to install Window 10 update. All end with the message

"No software or drivers are available for this product with the selected operating system. Please make a different selection, or visit the product homepage."

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

The Barachiel is at your service.

I understand you are in need of support,

I'll be glad to help you out. 🙂

The bios update is irrespective of which operating system is run in the computer. Having said that, Follow this link https://hp.care/2MmaYgR which is the latest bios update available in the support site, and it goes with windows 7 64 bit, since the computer came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Let me know how that pans out. 🙂

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask any other queries as  well,

Considering, this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help. 😉

Hi
Thank you for your prompt response.

I have followed your link and went through the subsequent update.  During the process, it appeared that the update version was the same as the previous one.
I have run MSINFO32 which show  F.48, 09/11/2011 to be the current BIOS. This is the same as before.
Previously Microsoft has told me that I need an updated version to be able to install April Update.

I would be grateful for your advice.

BIOS update suggested by Barachiel, is the only latest update available for your notebook model.

This means your notebook already has the latest Bios installed.

Hope this helps 🙂

Cheers 🙂

Hi

if the 09/11/2011 BIOS as supplied with the laptop is indeed the latest BIOS available it looks like I and others are up the creek without the proverbial.   I went through the procedure to update the BIOS but the BIOS I had was just the same.

In the hope that it might make a difference I ran another attempt at the Update only to get the message

"Installation failed in the SAFE_CS phase with an error in the boot operation. "

Microsoft tell me it is the BIOS that is stopping the Spring update of Windows 10.

Is there a workaround I can try?  I have gone through all the checks and procedures recommended by Microsoft. Am I now at an impasse.   I must have spent 100hrs working on this. Oh my.

Grateful for any assistance

Rob

Thank you for responding,

It's great to have you back 😉

Please try the steps given below and then try the update.

  1. Boot your computer into Windows.
  2. Right click the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin).
  3. Type bcdedit /enum all and press Enter.
  4. You'll see a list of all the memory locations that have been deemed 'bad', this list can be cleared.
  5. Type bcdedit /deletevalue {badmemory} badmemorylist and press Enter (type this verbatim, {badmemory} is not a placeholder for anything).
  6. Close the Command Prompt window and restart your computer.

Please let me know if it worked out. 🙂
