Hi,
everytime I hit numlock, this icon pops up on the screen and it's driving me crazy. I tried fixing it in the settings but it wasn't there, then using regedit (I can't find the tutorial now) and it led me to SOFTWARE and to Wincomm or something like this which i don't have here. How should I "make it appear here" or fix it another way?

Hi @SbzCryo
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
Here are some steps you can try.
1. Check HP Software (OSD or Hotkey Support)
- Go to Control Panel > Programs and look for HP OSD or HP Hotkey Support.
- Disable any on-screen notifications related to NumLock.
2. Turn Off Sticky Keys
- Go to Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard.
- Turn off Sticky Keys and Filter Keys.
3. Disable NumLock Icon in Registry (Advanced)
- Open Registry Editor (regedit), navigate to:
- Look for any NumLock-related keys and delete them.
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
4. Uninstall Third-Party Software
- Check Control Panel > Programs for any apps related to keyboard management and uninstall them.
5. Check BIOS Settings
- Restart the laptop, press F10 to enter BIOS.
- Disable NumLock in the boot or advanced settings.
6. Update Keyboard Drivers
- Open Device Manager, right-click Keyboard > Update driver.
7. Clean Boot
- Use msconfig to start Windows with minimal services to see if a third-party app is causing the issue.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
