HP Pavilion 15-Au627tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I have a HP Pavilion 15-Au627tx (Z4Q46PA) Laptop (Core I7 7th Gen/16 GB/2 TB/Windows 10/4 GB) and the warranty expired 2 months ago
The problem is that the pc gets charge for 5 seconds when I plug it in then it stops but the led light near the charging point in laptop is still on (indicates it’s charging).
It is not charger as i have also tried a new one.
It charges only when it is turned off so I think something software related.
I bought the pc in Delhi, India but now I am in a remote village in Nepal so there is no specialized laptop service or hp service centers available here.
Please help me I had this problem from past 3 months.

Have you  run the HP PC Hardware Diagnostic test for the battery or the test available in the HP Support Assistant?

What were the results?

I also tried uninstalling the Battery drivers and I also tried updating the BIOS but I was unsuccessful as It needs to be plugged in. Nothing works so far.

So you ran both tests to completion?

No error codes?

It is like a 5 second thing I don’t think it can be detected by Diagnostics as I plug in it chargers like normal and then it stops after literal 5 seconds it’s like it is not plugged in the weird part the led indicator shows it is plugged in then I remove the plug the indicator turn off again plugged in the the same thing happens

Battery charging issues can be isolated to one of five things.

1) failed battery  (should produce an error message)

2) failed power adapter

3) An OS issue with the battery (Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery) Test it by deleting the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery device and  then refreshing the device manager. It should reinstall the device. If that was the problem then charging should return to normal.

4) A failed DC  power header on the notebook - this will not allow the notebook's main battery to charge at all.

5) a system board charging subsystem issue - That is a failure of a circuit on the system board.  This requires a systemboard replacement

The Diagnostics tests must be done with the battery fully charged. Charge it with the notebook off and then run the diagnostic test again. YOu can also test the power adapter in the PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFU utilty.

Im having the same issue at the moment, how did u get it fixed?

I have the same issue. HP keeps suggesting you run the adaptor test but the adaptor switches off after 5 seconds so the wonderful test program asks you to plug the adaptor in ....when it is ....very frustrating.
