Hello community 🙂, I'm trying to connect my probook to and older (but not that old) HP display (HP Compaq LA1905wg) using a USB-c to display port. I can see the detection is working but my laptop screen is flashing repeatedly to black. I've checked upgrades and the HP assistant but to no avail. Any tips would be gratefully received.

I think I just solved my own problem thanks to a link on someone else's query. HP Notebook PCs - HP DisplayPort | HP® Customer Support 

It seems I am using the wrong cable.
