Hi @DHRUVRAVAL7,

Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

If you're looking to find your Windows 11 product key to activate Microsoft Office on your HP EliteBook 840 G5, please note that the product key for Windows and Microsoft Office are different. Here are steps to find your Windows product key and activate Microsoft Office:

Finding Your Windows Product Key

Your HP EliteBook 840 G5 may have come with Windows preinstalled, and the product key is usually embedded in the BIOS or UEFI firmware. You can retrieve it using Command Prompt or Windows PowerShell.

  1. Using Command Prompt:

    • Press Windows Key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin) or Windows PowerShell (Admin).
    • Enter the following command and press Enter:
      wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey

    • This should display your original Windows product key.

  2. Using PowerShell:

    • Press Windows Key + X and select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
    • Enter the following command and press Enter:
      (Get-WmiObject -query 'select * from SoftwareLicensingService').OA3xOriginalProductKey

    • The product key should now be displayed.

Activating Microsoft Office

To activate Microsoft Office, you need a separate Office product key. If you purchased Microsoft Office or Office 365, follow these steps:

  1. Locate Your Microsoft Office Product Key:

    • If you purchased a physical copy, check the packaging for a label with the product key.
    • For digital purchases, the product key is provided in the email confirmation or within your Microsoft account.
  2. Activate Office Using the Product Key:

    • Sign In: Open any Microsoft Office application (e.g., Word, Excel).
    • Activate Office: Select File > Account > Activate Product on the ribbon.
    • Enter Product Key: Enter your 25-character Office product key when prompted.

  3. Online Activation:

    • Alternatively, you can visit the official Microsoft Office activation page: https://setup.office.com
    • Sign in with your Microsoft account and enter your product key to link it to your account.
