Hi @dlynnalston1011,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with your HP Laptop that has a pop up error.

Here’s a step-by-step approach to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Verify the Error Message:

  • Check if the error message includes any specific codes or descriptions. This information can be helpful for pinpointing the exact problem.

2. Check for Updates:

  • Windows Update:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click Check for updates.
  • HP Software Update:
    • Open the HP Support Assistant (if installed) and check for updates.
    • Alternatively, visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest drivers and software.

3. Repair or Reset the HP Application:

  • Repair or Reset the App:
    • Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
    • Locate the HP app in the list (it might be named something like "HP Support Assistant" or similar).
    • Click on the app and select Advanced options.
    • Choose Repair. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, you can also try Reset.

4. Reinstall the HP Software:

  • Uninstall the App:
    • In Settings > Apps > Apps & features, locate the HP app, click on it, and select Uninstall.
  • Reinstall:
    • Go to the Microsoft Store and search for the HP app to reinstall it, or download it from the HP Support website.

5. Run Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter:

  • Troubleshooter:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
    • Select Windows Store Apps and run the troubleshooter to detect and fix issues with Microsoft Store apps.

6. Check Permissions:

  • Ensure that you have appropriate permissions to access the WindowsApps folder.
  • Access Permissions:
    • Open File Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files\WindowsApps.
    • You may need to adjust the permissions or take ownership of the folder to troubleshoot further. This should be done cautiously and only if you’re comfortable with advanced system operations.

7. System File Checker Scan:

  • SFC Scan:
    • Open Command Prompt as an administrator (search for cmd, right-click, and select Run as administrator).
    • Type sfc /scannow and press Enter. This will check for and attempt to fix corrupted system files.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
