hp probook 3460b
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

i took the hard drive out of a toshiba laptop and put it into the hp probook 6460b lsptop and now it seems the chrome browser will not show up. edge show and lets me on the internet  but when i click the chrome that will not show. i downloaded the chrome browser again but still nothing. i rebooted a few times and nothing. i checked the updated drivers for the display and i'm told i have the latest.

now i have installed hp assistant to see if they find anything i may need. that is still running. but no browser is showing yet i have put hard drives in different laptops before and never had this issue. so does anyone have an idea that may help thanks

also i noticed that when chrome tries to open i get a notice that a background app is added for wifi printer and on this pc i never got that notice when chrome opens. it says wifi printer driver for chromebooks will launch at system startup. sounds fishy to me. so i will go over to chrome and see if they have a fix for this. thanks

I am very surprised to see it works. Aynyway, please re-install Chrome, only 2 or 3 minutes.

Regards.

thanks but i can't even delete chrome. it will not uninstall and i even went to the drive and folders and tried to just delete it and it say files open. how in the world can you get rid of this program.

what i get is when i click on the google icon it starts to open and then the complete field goes black. in the lower left i see items that the browser are opening but the complete area the broswer is in is black.

i have moved hard drives in computers lots of time and never had this issue. but if i can get all of chrome off the drive i will reinstall it and see if it goes. i'm thinking it has a bad cookie because if i went to task manager and close the dozen or so chrome tasks it had open then i could open it like normal, but if i tried to close and reopen it then it was black in the browser field area.

if i moved the mouse over to like the upper right side menu area and got luck i could open the drop down and go in there and change the end but the browser field remained black. thanks

i finally got chrome off the pc. 3 uninstaller would not remove it but then after removing every single file i found the one that was opening chrome asit tried to uninstall. so now i'm at chrome and installing it again forn googles site. if this fails then i will turn off the security and try to reinstall it. maybe avast is giving me fits with it.

i went to google and used the run for installing it and now to see if after it launches that it works as it should. now turned of antivirus and defender and chrome will not open up. so this is a clean install and it still fails. so maybe i got the wrong program.

i'm about ready to go back to firefox, if google fails to run.
