Hi guys, hope you doing well. When i try finishing w11 pro installation on wy victus 16 s1034nf, the following error pops up : "install driver to show hardware". Browsing the internet, I could see that Intel cpu devices had a manual driver loading fix but no AMD manual fixs ! Did anybody face the same issue on an AMD laptop, especialy HP victus? How did you get to fix this? Helppppp 😭🥺💔 My specs : Ryzen 5 8645hs RTX 4060 120w 16 gb ddr5 5600mhz 512 gb m2 nvme PCIE 16.1 INCH 165HZ 300 NITS 100% srgb.

Hey @Makunochi225, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Sorry you're stuck in this mess 😩 Let's get you out of that “Install driver to show hardware” loop.

This happens due to,
>The Windows installer can't detect your NVMe SSD or USB controller because the right AMD chipset/storage drivers aren’t built into the installer.

>Intel systems usually get patched using Intel RST drivers, but AMD platforms need RAID/SATA/NVMe drivers too — just from AMD instead.

Please try these steps,

💾 Step 1: Download AMD Drivers

  • Go to the AMD official drivers site.
  • Navigate to: Chipsets > AMD Ryzen > AMD Ryzen 8000 Series > AMD Ryzen 8645HS
  • Download the AMD Chipset Drivers for Windows 11.

OR download directly from here (if it matches your chipset family): 👉 https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am5/b650

Make sure the package includes:

AMD NVMe/SATA Controller drivers

AMD PSP

AMD GPIO

⚠️ Extract the ZIP and copy it to your Windows USB installer drive or another USB.

💻 Step 2: Inject the Driver During Setup

When you see the screen that says "Install driver to show hardware":

  1. Click Browse
  2. Select the folder containing the extracted AMD drivers
  3. Let it search — it should detect the NVMe driver (or USB) and show your storage device.

Once it installs the driver, your SSD should appear, and the installation can continue.

Rebuild your Windows USB with Modern Drivers (Optional)

If this keeps happening:

  • Use Rufus to rebuild your USB stick with the latest Windows 11 ISO.
  • Or use Windows 11 Media Creation Tool to ensure the installer is fresh and supports modern chipsets.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Max

I hope you’re doing great. After using ventoy (instead of rufus) for making the Windows 11 usb bootable, the installation process works like a charm !! Windows is now fully installed and the laptop runs perfectly. Thanks for your ongoing support !!!
