@KMD14, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP Elite Book X360 1030 G4.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

If your HP EliteBook x360 1030 G4 is experiencing no audio output, here are steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check Volume and Mute Settings

  1. Volume Controls: Ensure that the volume is turned up and not muted. Use the volume keys on your laptop or adjust the volume settings in the system tray of your operating system.
  2. Audio Output Device: Make sure the correct audio output device is selected. Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray and choose "Playback devices" to verify the right speaker or headphone option is active.

Audio Troubleshooter

  1. Run Audio Troubleshooter (Windows): Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot," then select "Playing Audio" and run the troubleshooter.

Device Manager

  1. Update Drivers: Open "Device Manager," expand "Sound, video and game controllers," right-click your audio device, and choose "Update driver."
  2. Reinstall Drivers: Right-click the audio device and select "Uninstall device." Restart your laptop, and Windows will try to reinstall the drivers automatically.

Check Audio Services

  1. Restart Audio Services: Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter. Locate "Windows Audio," right-click it, and select "Restart."

BIOS and Hardware Checks

  1. BIOS Updates: Check for any BIOS updates specific to your model, as updates can address hardware compatibility issues.
  2. Hardware Issues: Ensure no headphones or external audio devices are causing conflicts by disconnecting them and testing the built-in speakers.

Additional Steps

  • Check Headphone Jack: Ensure nothing is plugged into the audio jack, as this can disable the built-in speakers.
  • External Devices: Try using external speakers or headphones to see if the issue is with the laptop's internal speakers.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
