I just purchased an HP ENVY Laptop, and was trying to register the item.  However, everytime time I try to enter the Product name or number I keep receiving an error message, "No Product Found."

HOWEVER... when I created an HP account, figuring to go straight to tech support to find out what to do next, I was able to add in the product AND the dashboard shows the active Warranty start date (correct, August 1st).  This probably sounds like an idiotic question, but I have learned to never assume: does the fact the product shows up under my dashboard as active mean it actually IS registered??

Hi @ptdumas,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand that you're facing issues while trying to register your HP ENVY laptop and encountering the error message "No Product Found." This error could be due to various reasons, such as typos in the product name or number, connectivity issues, or technical glitches. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Double-Check Product Information: Make sure you are entering the correct product name and number. Check the label on the laptop for accurate details. It's easy to make a mistake with alphanumeric characters, so be extra careful while entering the information.
  • Connectivity: Ensure you have a stable internet connection while attempting to register. A weak or intermittent connection could prevent the system from retrieving product information.
  • Browser Compatibility: If you're using a web browser to register your laptop, try using a different browser or updating your current one to the latest version. Sometimes, compatibility issues can lead to errors.
  • Try Different Devices: If you're using a computer to register, try using a different computer or a mobile device. This can help rule out device-specific issues.
  • Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, cached data and cookies can cause issues on websites. Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then try registering again.
  • Wait and Retry: If the issue persists, it's possible that there might be a temporary server glitch on HP's end. Wait for a little while and try registering again later.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
