hello, I found a option to turn off my laptops cooling fan, is it okay to turn the setting to off? I don't always do demanding stuff on my laptop and so keeping the fan off when the temperature is not high will save me battery. I just want to know is turning it off okay? thanks

You're very welcome.
I've been turning that setting off since 2008 when I got my first new HP notebook and never had any issues with overheating, damage, failed components, etc.
The last notebook I received was made in 2020, and I turned the setting off for that one too and no problems encountered after 3 years of use.

Hi:
That is the first setting I turn off in the BIOS when I get my new HP notebooks.
It's not necessary and IMHO, it just allows a greater quantity of lint and dust to be introduced inside the PC for no reason.
The fan will automatically switch on when needed.
