start button was frozen so I ran multiple system recoveries. In the process, my office software that came with the computer disappeared.

Can I recover it?

I doubt it.

In almost every single case the Office software that comes with the computer is Trial software.

From one of the CTO product numbers in this series:

Software - Productivity & Finance1 month trial for new Microsoft Office 365 customers

You need a license for Office Software - Office 365 is a subscription based service, there are also older "stand alone" versions that might still be available for purchase.

IF you have a license key for the Office software, activate your Office using your license.

Microsoft Office - Product and License Information

Unless you purchased Microsoft Office when you purchased your computer, the “pre-installed” Office software is likely a “Trial” version that does require that you purchase the software to use Office.

How-to

Microsoft - Activate Office

With Key - Install Office on your PC or Mac

You are welcome.

Never stupid, Danny.

So many people think that trial software is the real thing.

In a very few cases, there is a "subscription for a year" offer with the notebook - but these offers are outlined in the purchase (and) so not as easily confused.

Stay Safe.
