My SSD drive is failing again after just 19 months.  This has been a biggest mistake, these are not reliable at all.

how do I make recovery USB tumb drive so I can replace my drive and be where I am today, since I do not have any recovery discs or optical drive?

Can I repalce my SSD with regular hard drive?

Thanks!

Mehran

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with that.

I only use the size USB flash drive that is required.

The utility formats the drive so anything else on it gets deleted.

In order to get your 250 GB back on the USB flash drive, you probably will have to format it, and lose the HP recovery media.

Hi, Mehran:

You should be able to use the HP cloud recovery client software to reinstall W10.

See the info at the link below...

I think you would need additional parts to install a mechanical hard drive.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with that.

I suggest you install a different brand PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD.

Perhaps you will have better luck.

Normally a SSD is more reliable than a mechanical hard drive anyway.

Thank you for your reply, I tried that and used my 250 gig USB.  after it was done it has only 31 gig, do you know how can recover the rest of the capacity to back up my personal files on it?
I also will probably buy a different brand PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD. I found a popular samsung that has good rating.

Interesting enough, when I went to check the USB recovery by booting it up, I found that my personal files where not on it, so I backed out, some how my other issue with loosing my second Monitor got resolved.

Thanks!
