Hi @MichaelTucker,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If HP Support Assistant is showing two different serial numbers for your computer, it could be due to a few reasons.

  • Multiple Devices: Check if your system might be recognizing different components or configurations as separate devices. Sometimes, internal components or configurations might show different serial numbers.
  • Software Glitch: There might be a software glitch or issue with the HP Support Assistant itself.
  • Update Required: Ensure that your HP Support Assistant is up-to-date. Sometimes updating the software can resolve such discrepancies.
  • BIOS and System Check: Verify the serial number directly from the BIOS or system settings. Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F2, F10, or Del during startup) and check the serial number there. You can also check it on the system label, usually found on the bottom or back of your laptop or desktop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
