so theres a flash of din light when my laptop is in sleep mode and plugged in.This is occuring about every minute or so for less than a second.kinda like when your laptop is in sleep mode and you press on a key to wake it,theres a flash of light waking your laptop up and going to the lock screen.I updated to the t82 1.23.00 version of bios and im not sure if this bios has caused this issue.

@elitebookuser12,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

This is normal behavior, not a BIOS fault.

After the T82 v1.23.00 BIOS update, your HP laptop is likely using Modern Standby (S0). In this mode, the system briefly wakes in the background (about once a minute) to handle power, network, or Windows tasks.

These micro-wake events can cause a momentary LED or backlight flash, especially when plugged in.

Key points:

  • The system is not fully waking if the screen and fans stay off

  • It often doesn't happen on battery power

  • The BIOS update likely just made the LED activity visible

If you want to reduce it:

  • Disable wake timers in Power Options

  • Disable "Allow this device to wake the computer" on the network adapter

  • Use Hibernate instead of Sleep

If your laptop sleeps normally and battery drain is fine, there's nothing wrong.

Kind Regards,
