Hi, I have an HP Split 13-m200el notebook, when I click start - shut down the system the pc does not shut down completely, the orange wifi light remains on and the fans continue to spin, I reset the software but the defect remains. If I hold down the power button for 10 seconds, it turns off completely. Is there a solution?

Thanks

@xrays71 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the laptop will not shut down completely.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your laptop?

As you mentioned the issue still persists after trying out the steps.

Try the steps recommended below.

1. use windows key+x on your keyboard, to open device manager (you may use other means)
2. Locate system services and expand the trail
3. Locate and right click on "Intel (R) Management Engine Interface" then select Properties (or Just
double click)
4. Select power management tap
5. And uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
6. Save it and close it.

1. Turn off Fast Startup

2. Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power button does and click on “Change settings that are currently unavailable" and Uncheck "Turn on Fast Startup"

3.uncheck “Power Management

4. Go to Control Panel > Device Manager > System Devices > Intel Management Engine Interface > Power Management and uncheck the “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”

Try restoring the BIOS to default and check if it helps.

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Also, try running a system diagnostics test on your PC and check if the hardware components on your PC are functioning correctly.
