Suddenly my Pavilion DM1 is appearing with quick web on power up. I put in the correct password [I think] but it won't work. I have tried continually pressing F10 and or F5 keys on powerup to get into the bios but that won't work. I have seen some suggestions as to how to get past my problem but none of them will work. I really need my laptop!! Thanks in advance

I grasp that on power up you are seeing the HP Quick Web. Although you put in what you thought was the password, it was not accepted. You have been unable to access the bios and have tried some suggestions that you located, but without success.
Here is a link that I think will help with this issue:

Hello Sparkles 1...thanks for your efforts but no luck. The exact model of my notebook is DM1-4108AU and if you need it the Product is A9L93PA#ABG. Hopefully this information will shed more light on what I need to do to bypass the Quick Web. thanks in advance....Jack

Hi @Jack67,
Thank you for the requested information.
When I checked the software and driver page for your notebook, I noted that there are no drivers listed for Windows 10. This means that HP has not tested Windows 10 on this model. This does not mean it will not work, only that the outcome is unknown.
Did this occur only after updating to Windows 10?
Have you done all your Windows updates?
Have you run the Windows troubleshooter?
Have you run the HP Support Assistant?
If Quick Web was previously working with your Windows 10, you could try doing a restore back to before this occurred.
HP PCs - Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 10, 😎
If it was working correctly with Windows 10 and is no longer, you could try to uninstall it and then reinstall it in compatibility mode:
Compatibility Mode ( from windows10forums.com)
As it is not listed on the software and driver page for your notebook, if it came pre-installed you should be able to reinstall it from the HP Recovery Manager:
HP PCs - Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 10)
To enter the BIOS try these steps:
- Turn off your computer
- On startup immediately starting tapping the F10 key approximately once every second.
Is Quick web listed there?
Please keep me updated on your progress.

Hello Sparkles 1 thanks for your reply. The QuickWeb only appeared when I first purchased the machine and I did not see it again until just recently. It didn't come on at power up when I changed to windows 10 but only last week. It was intermitent but now comes on every time i turn the notebook on. If my notebook did not contain information I need I would through it in the garbage bin. I can't try any of your suggestions re loading driver updates etc. as I cannot get into the machine. I have pressed F10 on power up until the tip of my finger is numb!! 🙂 but nothing happens. The last time my machine bypassed QuickWeb I changed the password to QuickWeb but it's still asking for the old one. I will have to persevere with this problem until I can get into my notebook and disable QuickWeb permanently. Thanks for your efforts in trying to help me with this problem. 🙂

Hello Sparkles 1
I went to the site you mentioned to change my password for my HP notebook. I was asked to enter my email and when I did got the message that there is no such customer with that email. Can you tell me what is happening please??

Hi @Jack67,
Thank you for your feedback. I was not sure if that link would help and now we both know. I suggest that you do a recovery back to factory and get a fresh start. Do not worry there is an option to backup your data during the recovery process to prevent loss. Here are links to assist you with that process:
HP PCs - Troubleshooting HP System Recovery Problems (Windows 10)
HP PCs - Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 10)
Although this link lists Windows 8, the process will be the same for Windows 10.
HP PCs - Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows 😎
You may also wish to consider contacting HP Support for assistance. You can allow them to remotely access your system to help overcome issues. Please contact HP support at Contact HP Support .
Please let me know the outcome.
When you have resolved your difficulty, would you choose "Accepted Solution" on that post to alert other members and visitors to your success and perhaps help them. To show appreciation for my help. please click the "Thumbs Up Icon" below.

Hello Sparkles 1
thanks for your help but let's go back to my original problem. When I power on my notebook the HP QuickWeb LogOn screen appears.....after being absent for about 2 years. I enter the password I have but there is no response, and after numerous tries I have to shutdown my notebook. I can't do a system backup or recover because I cannot get past the QuickWeb LogOn when I turn on my notebook. I have tried pressing the F11 key on it's own, and the fn and F11 keys repeatedly but cannot bypass the HP QuickWeb LogOn screen. I have googled this on my laptop and pressed all the suggested keys while powering on but have had no luck. My machine is a HP Pavilion DM1-4108AU the product number is A9L93PA#ABG. Surely there must be a way to resolve this issue or do I just lose everything in the machine and throw it away?? Again thanks for your help.
regards
Jack
