@mithun80, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
If the storage check is getting cancelled while using the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool on your HP Laptop 15s-gr0012AU (35K35PA), here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Ensure HP PC Hardware Diagnostics is Up to Date
- Download the latest version from the official HP site:
HP PC Hardware Diagnostics | HP® Support
Run the Test from UEFI (Outside Windows)
Sometimes, running diagnostics from within Windows can cause interference. Try running the test from UEFI:
- Shut down your laptop.
- Power it on and immediately press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
- Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
- Select Component Tests > Hard Drive > Quick Test or Extensive Test.
Check for Drive Encryption or BitLocker
- If BitLocker or any third-party encryption is enabled, it may interfere with diagnostics.
- You can check BitLocker status by opening Command Prompt and typing:
manage-bde -status
- If enabled, consider suspending BitLocker temporarily before running the test.
Update BIOS and Storage Drivers
- Outdated BIOS or storage drivers can cause test failures.
- Visit your product support page to download the latest updates: Official HP® Support
Run CHKDSK in Windows
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:
chkdsk /f /r
- This will scan and repair disk errors. You may need to restart your laptop.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
