Hi,
After reading this thread I've found that I have the exact same problem with my HP omen 17 and the sound is identical to the one my computer makes. I would really appreciate to get a solution as I have been wondering about this sound for a while since I bought this computer.
Thanks in advance.

A clicking sound can be almost anything, but most likely, it is simply the sound of the hard drive working.
IT could also be an indicator of the drive failing -- so to be safe, you should check the health of the drive.
If your PC is new enough to support UEFI, you can use these steps to test the hard drive: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00439024

Thanks for your answer.
Yep, I think the sound is comming from the hard drive. The sound can be heard especially on the left side of the laptop, where I believe the hard drive is located. I've done hard drive tests, all passed ok, and also checked for drivers updates but the sound is still there. It can be the normal operation of the HHD but I've never experience such a sound in other computers I've had.
