Hello Laxman,
Good day. Thank you for reaching out to the Hp community. I would be delighted to assist you. Superb description and terrific troubleshooting. Kudos to you for that.

If you're experiencing issues with the Synaptics FS7605 Touch Fingerprint Driver on the HP EliteBook 840 G8 running Windows 11, here is a general approach to address the issue:

  1. Driver Update: Make sure you have the latest version of the Synaptics FS7605 Touch Fingerprint Driver installed. You can download and install the latest drivers from the HP Software and Driver Downloads page. Ensure you select the correct model and OS.

  2. Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your operating system is updated to the latest version. Sometimes, Windows updates can resolve compatibility issues.

  3. Device Manager Check:

    • Right-click the Start button and select "Device Manager".
    • Navigate to "Biometric devices" and locate the Synaptics Fingerprint Driver.
    • Right-click the driver, select "Update driver", and then "Search automatically for updated driver software".
  4. Reinstall the Driver:

    • If updating does not resolve the issue, try uninstalling the driver from Device Manager and then reinstall it using the downloaded file from the HP website.
  5. HP Support: If the problem persists, consider reaching out to HP Support for more detailed assistance or to report the issue.
