Hi @Shubham_2006,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue of excessive battery drain caused by background services like sysinfocap.exe and svchost.exe using the dedicated GPU on your HP Omen 16 can be resolved with the following steps.

Adjust NVIDIA GPU Settings

a. Force Integrated Graphics for Specific Processes

  1. Open NVIDIA Control Panel:
    • Right-click on the desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.
  2. Manage 3D Settings:
    • Go to the Manage 3D Settings tab.
  3. Program Settings:
    • Add or locate sysinfocap.exe and svchost.exe.
    • Set their Preferred Graphics Processor to Integrated Graphics instead of the High-Performance NVIDIA GPU.
  4. Apply the changes.

Check Background App Permissions

  1. Open Settings > Privacy > Background Apps.
  2. Disable unnecessary apps that may activate GPU processes.

Disable or Optimize sysinfocap.exe

a. Identify Its Purpose:

  • sysinfocap.exe is often part of HP software such as OMEN Gaming Hub or telemetry services.
  • If it's not essential, you can disable it.

b. Stop sysinfocap.exe:

  1. Open Task Manager:
    • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
  2. Locate sysinfocap.exe in the Processes tab.
  3. Right-click it and select End Task.
  4. Prevent its startup:
    • Go to the Startup tab.
    • Right-click sysinfocap.exe and choose Disable.

Manage svchost.exe Services

a. Identify the Associated Service:

  1. In Task Manager, find svchost.exe.
  2. Right-click it and select Go to Services to see the related services.
  3. Identify which service is unnecessarily using the GPU.

b. Disable Non-Critical Services:

  • Open Run (Win + R), type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Locate the related service, right-click, and select Properties.
  • Set the Startup Type to Manual or Disabled (only if non-critical).

Update Software and Drivers

  1. NVIDIA GPU Drivers:
    • Update through GeForce Experience or manually from NVIDIA's website.
  2. HP Software:
    • Open HP Support Assistant and ensure all drivers and firmware are up to date.
  3. Windows Update:
    • Ensure your system is fully updated.

Power Settings and GPU Monitoring

a. Optimize Power Settings:

  1. Open Control Panel > Power Options.
  2. Select Balanced or Power Saver.

b. Monitor GPU Usage:

  1. Install GPU-Z or use Task Manager to check which processes are utilizing the GPU.
  2. Take corrective action based on findings.

If the issue persists despite these steps, consider disabling or uninstalling the software triggering sysinfocap.exe unless it is critical for your usage.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
