Hi @joedam,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your laptop has a dedicated quick button for the camera, you can follow these general steps to enable the camera.
- Check the User Manual: Consult your laptop's user manual. It often contains specific instructions on how to use the built-in features, including the camera.
- Look for a Camera Icon on the Quick Button: The quick button for the camera is usually represented by a camera icon. Press this button to activate the camera.
- Use Function Keys: Some laptops use function keys (F1, F2, etc.) with secondary functions. Look for a key with a camera icon or a function key that has a camera-related symbol. You may need to press the "Fn" key in combination with the appropriate function key.
- Check Software Settings: Ensure that the camera is not disabled in the operating system settings. For Windows, you can do this by going to "Settings" > "Privacy" > "Camera" and making sure the toggle switch is turned on. In some cases, you may need to install or update camera drivers.
- Update Drivers: Ensure your camera drivers are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager on Windows. Right-click on the Start button, select "Device Manager," find the camera under "Imaging devices" or "Cameras," right-click on it, and choose "Update driver."
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
