Hi @Ericthegoat001,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are looking for help with allocating more space to C drive on your Laptop.

To allocate more space to your C drive from the D drive on your HP laptop, you can follow these steps using the built-in Disk Management tool in Windows. Make sure to back up important data before proceeding, as modifying partitions can sometimes lead to data loss.

Steps to Resize Partitions:

Open Disk Management:

  • Right-click the Start button and select Disk Management.

Shrink the D Drive:

  • Find your D drive in the list.
  • Right-click on the D drive and select Shrink Volume.
  • Enter the amount of space you want to shrink (this will be added to the C drive) and click Shrink.

Extend the C Drive:

  • After shrinking the D drive, you’ll see unallocated space next to your C drive.
  • Right-click on the C drive and select Extend Volume.
  • Follow the wizard to allocate the unallocated space to the C drive.

Complete the Process:

  • After the process is complete, your C drive should now have more space.

Important Notes:

  • If the unallocated space is not directly next to the C drive, you may need to use third-party software (like MiniTool Partition Wizard or EaseUS Partition Master) to move partitions around.
  • Always back up important data before making changes to disk partitions.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
