Hi @Ericthegoat001,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are looking for help with allocating more space to C drive on your Laptop.
To allocate more space to your C drive from the D drive on your HP laptop, you can follow these steps using the built-in Disk Management tool in Windows. Make sure to back up important data before proceeding, as modifying partitions can sometimes lead to data loss.
Steps to Resize Partitions:
Open Disk Management:
- Right-click the Start button and select Disk Management.
Shrink the D Drive:
- Find your D drive in the list.
- Right-click on the D drive and select Shrink Volume.
- Enter the amount of space you want to shrink (this will be added to the C drive) and click Shrink.
Extend the C Drive:
- After shrinking the D drive, you’ll see unallocated space next to your C drive.
- Right-click on the C drive and select Extend Volume.
- Follow the wizard to allocate the unallocated space to the C drive.
Complete the Process:
- After the process is complete, your C drive should now have more space.
Important Notes:
- If the unallocated space is not directly next to the C drive, you may need to use third-party software (like MiniTool Partition Wizard or EaseUS Partition Master) to move partitions around.
- Always back up important data before making changes to disk partitions.
