Hi @mike525252,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding driver for your PC!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand how frustrating it can be when your touchpad stops working after an update. The good news is that there are steps you can take to restore functionality while ensuring your system stays up to date.
As technology evolves, updates sometimes introduce temporary compatibility challenges. HP is continuously working to provide optimized drivers for the best experience. In the meantime, here are a few solutions you can try
Use Windows Generic Drivers:
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
- Right-click on your touchpad device and choose Update driver.
- Select Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
- Choose the HID-compliant touchpad driver and click Next.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Windows Update and click Check for updates to see if any patches are available.
Use an External Mouse (Temporary Solution):
- If needed, an external USB mouse can help you stay productive until the touchpad driver is updated.
HP is committed to providing the best experience for its users, and updated drivers should be available soon. Keep an eye on the HP Software & Drivers page for the latest updates tailored to your device.
