Hi @laptop217,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop's touchpad isn't working after installing Windows 11, you can try these steps to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

Check Touchpad Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
  • Ensure the touchpad is enabled and adjust sensitivity settings if needed.

Update or Reinstall Touchpad Drivers:

  • Press Windows Key + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Mice and other pointing devices section.
  • Right-click on your touchpad device and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for drivers.
  • If updating doesn’t work, right-click again and select Uninstall device. Restart your laptop, and Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates. Install any available updates that might include drivers or fixes for your touchpad.

Install HP Support Assistant:

  • If you don’t already have it, download and install HP Support Assistant from the HP website. It can help you find and install the latest drivers and updates for your laptop.

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing Esc, F2, or Delete during startup).
  • Look for a setting related to the touchpad (often under Advanced or Device Configuration) and ensure it’s enabled.

Perform a System Restore:

  • If the touchpad worked before the Windows 11 installation and stopped afterward, you can try rolling back to a previous restore point.
  • Go to Settings > System > Recovery > Advanced startup and choose Restart now. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > System Restore.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
