Hi @kolia124,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like there might be an issue with the touchpad driver or its connection in your HP Pavilion x360 14-inch 2-in-1 laptop. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot the issue.
Check if the Touchpad is Disabled
- Press the Fn key + the F7 key (or whichever key has a touchpad icon) to toggle the touchpad on and off.
- Alternatively, go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad and ensure the touchpad is enabled.
Update or Reinstall Drivers
Since you mentioned HP drivers aren't working, let's try some additional steps:
- Uninstall the driver:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Look for the Mice and other pointing devices section and right-click on your touchpad (if listed) to select Uninstall device.
- Restart your computer and see if Windows re-installs the touchpad driver automatically.
- Install drivers manually:
- Download the latest touchpad driver from the HP support page for your specific laptop model.
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Mice and other pointing devices, right-click the touchpad device, and select Update Driver.
- Choose Browse my computer for driver software and point it to the location where you downloaded the driver.
Check BIOS Settings
- Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS by pressing Esc or F10 as soon as it starts booting.
- Check if there’s a setting for the touchpad (sometimes listed as Internal Pointing Device), and make sure it’s enabled.
- If it’s disabled, enable it and save the settings, then exit the BIOS.
Run Windows Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Select Additional troubleshooters and run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter to check for issues with the touchpad.

Check for Windows Updates
Sometimes a Windows update may resolve hardware compatibility issues:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and make sure everything is up to date.
Restore or Reset Windows
If none of the above works and the touchpad is still not recognized, you could try restoring Windows to a point where the touchpad worked or performing a reset:
- To restore: Control Panel > System and Security > File History > Restore personal files (if you have a backup).
- To reset: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
