Hi @Mahantesh_AM,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Spectre x360 touchscreen pen is not working, there are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Check Battery Levels:
- If your pen uses a battery, ensure it has sufficient charge. Replace or recharge the battery if necessary.
2. Restart Your Laptop:
- Restarting your laptop can sometimes resolve issues with the pen not being recognized.
3. Re-pair the Pen:
- If your pen connects via Bluetooth, try unpairing and then re-pairing it:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
- Locate your pen under "Other devices" or "Mouse, keyboard, & pen."
- Select the pen and choose Remove device.
- Press and hold the pairing button on your pen until the LED indicator flashes.
- Re-pair the pen by selecting Add Bluetooth or other device and choosing your pen from the list.
4. Update Drivers:
- Ensure your touch and pen drivers are up-to-date:
- Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Human Interface Devices section.
- Right-click on the HID-compliant touch screen and HID-compliant pen drivers, then select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
5. Check for Windows Updates:
- Make sure your Windows OS is fully updated:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install any available updates.
6. Calibrate the Pen:
- If the pen is recognized but not responding accurately, try calibrating it:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink.
- Under Pen settings, select Calibrate your screen for pen or touch input.
7. Test the Pen on Another Device:
- If possible, test your pen on another compatible device to determine if the issue is with the pen itself or your laptop.
8. Run HP Diagnostics: HP PCs - Testing for hardware failures
- HP offers built-in diagnostics tools that can help identify hardware issues:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Turn it back on and repeatedly press the F2 key to enter HP Diagnostics.
- Run a component test for the pen.
9. Reset Your Pen Settings:
- Sometimes, restoring the pen settings to default can help:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink.
- Scroll down and click Reset under Reset pen settings.
10. Check for Physical Damage:
- Inspect both the pen and your laptop’s touchscreen for any signs of physical damage that could affect functionality
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
