I am purchasing an HP All-in-One Desktop with Windows 10 Pro (64 bit) and want to transfer program applications and files from my HP notebook which also has Windows 10 Pro (64 bit). How can I do that without having to individually re-install all the programs?

The simple answer is "You cannot transfer applications, programs and software".

These have to be installed from their respective sources (download-save-install).

If you need a license, you will need to know this, too.

For example, Microsoft Office requires a license, as might paid versions of Photoshop, Games, and other software.

That said, it appears that there is paid software on the 'net that claims to do this.

I've never used a program / software service or product.

I cannot comment on it's use, security, safety, or value.

Files can be extracted from backup copies, perhaps copied directed from the old computer once it is added to the network of the new computer.  The new computer needs admin access to the files on the old computer and the files on the old computer might need be set to "shared".

For example files moved to cloud storage will be available when you reconnect your Cloud Storage software (for example OneDrive).

Actually, you CAN transfer programs -- just not ALL of them.  The HP utilities and apps that come preloaded with Windows can NOT be transferred.  Nor can apps that you installed from the MS Store.  But stuff you downloaded and installed yourself can.

You have to use SPECIAL software to do that -- and they all cost money, none are free.

The two I have used are LapLink PC Mover Pro, and EaseUS ToDo PC Transfer.  I found the second of these to be both easier to use and more reliable than the first.

Those same apps allow you to transfer settings and personal files, although you don't require those apps to transfer these items.
