Hi @schild1,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're looking to improve the performance of your HP Pavilion Desktop 570-P067ng, particularly by upgrading the GPU and possibly updating the BIOS. Let's break down your objectives:
GPU Upgrade: You mentioned purchasing an AMD HD 7670 GPU, but it's not being recognized in Task Manager. There could be several reasons for this, such as compatibility issues or driver problems. Here's what you can try:
Make sure the GPU is properly seated in the PCIe slot.
Install the latest drivers for the AMD HD 7670 GPU. You can download them from the AMD website.
Check BIOS settings to ensure that the PCIe slot is enabled and set as the primary display adapter.
BIOS Update: Updating the BIOS can sometimes improve system stability and compatibility with new hardware.
Here's a general guide on how to update the BIOS:
Go to the HP Support website and enter your desktop's model number (570-P067ng).
Find the BIOS section and download the latest BIOS update for your system.
Extract the contents of the downloaded file, which may include an .exe file.
Run the .exe file, which typically installs the BIOS update automatically. Follow any on-screen instructions.
It's crucial not to interrupt the BIOS update process, as it could brick your system. Ensure your computer has a stable power source during the update.
Turbo Mode and Overclocking: It's important to note that overclocking may not be supported or recommended for all systems. Since you mentioned that overclocking isn't possible, it's best not to attempt it, as it could potentially damage your hardware or void your warranty.
Before proceeding with any hardware or BIOS updates, make sure to back up your important data and create a system restore point
