How do I turn off the power led when this chromebook goes to sleep. The flashing is annoying

Annnnnt!

After owning 30+ laptops this is the 1st one that needs to blink when asleep and plugged in.

It's stand out annoying and light pollution.

A simple software feature should be added to enable people to turn off the light.

As a result, the machine is on the bubble of being returned. It's not encouraging that the expert advise I'm given to put tape over something that could simply be turned off by a software change.

Is there some-one from the industrial design group I can talk to?

So the annoying blinking lights are next to both USB ports on either side of the laptop. So they shine out in both directions basically visually yelling for attention in a dark room.

the touch pad is also loose.

While these two things make me lean towards returning the laptop I have to be honest and say the dismissive attitude displayed by the expert commentor (who presumably works for HP) solidifies the choice to return and not seek another HP product. I have confidence my perspective was not heard nor related to the product management and like most other tech companies these days, there is no way to actually reach someone that could hear and possibly forward the customer feedback. The message I get is that the majority of us that want gadgets to be useful but not seen or heard when not in use are not HPs product demographic.

Sad how far HP has fallen in the last couple decades after being the stand out example of a company with solid products, stellar customer service, and 2nd to none in employee satisfaction.
