Hi @asifalipatel,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Sure, I can guide you through the process of installing the Java Development Kit (JDK) on your HP Laptop PC with the Windows operating system. Follow these steps.

Installing JDK:

Download JDK:

  • Visit the official Oracle JDK download page: Oracle JDK Download.
  • Accept the license agreement.
  • Choose the appropriate JDK version for your system (e.g., Windows x64 for a 64-bit system).

Run the Installer:

  • Once the download is complete, run the installer executable file that you downloaded.

Follow the Installation Wizard:

  • The installation wizard will guide you through the setup process. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  • You might be asked to specify the installation directory; you can choose the default or customize it according to your preference.

Complete the Installation:

  • After the installation is complete, you may need to set up the system environment variables. The installer may prompt you to do this, or you can do it manually if required.

Verify Installation:

  • Open a command prompt and type the following command to verify that Java has been installed successfully:

java -version

  • It should display information about the installed Java version.

System Performance:

If your system is running slowly, here are some general tips:

Check for Updates:

  • Ensure that your operating system and all drivers are up to date. This can often improve system performance.

Remove Unnecessary Programs:

  • Uninstall any unnecessary or unused programs to free up disk space and resources.

Disk Cleanup:

  • Run the built-in Disk Cleanup tool to remove temporary files and free up space.

Check for Malware:

  • Run a full antivirus and anti-malware scan to ensure your system is not infected.

Adjust Power Settings:

  • Go to "Power Options" in the Control Panel and choose a balanced or high-performance power plan.

Increase Virtual Memory:

  • If you have sufficient disk space, consider increasing the virtual memory (pagefile size).

Hardware Upgrade:

  • If your laptop still performs slowly, consider upgrading the hardware (e.g., adding more RAM or upgrading to an SSD).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
