Hi @pandita_raju

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand — after updating your HP Notebook 15-db1069au from Windows 10 → Windows 11, your touchpad stopped working

This usually happens because the Synaptics/ELAN touchpad driver didn’t carry over properly to Windows 11. Let’s fix it:

Step 1: Check if Windows recognizes the touchpad

Press Win + I → Settings → Bluetooth & devicesTouchpad.

If Touchpad toggle is missing → driver problem.

If Touchpad is there but greyed out → BIOS or driver disabled.

Step 2: Device Manager check

Press Win + X → Device Manager.

Expand Mice and other pointing devices.

Do you see Synaptics/ELAN Precision Touchpad, or just HID-compliant mouse?

If nothing shows → driver not installed.

If it shows with ⚠️ yellow icon → driver error.

Step 3: Install correct HP touchpad driver

HP’s site often hides drivers under Windows 10, but they still work on 11.

👉 Download HP Touchpad Driver (AMD chipset models like yours)

Look for:

Synaptics TouchPad Driver or

ELAN TouchPad Driver

Install → Restart.

Step 4: Update AMD chipset drivers

Since your db1069au is an AMD Ryzen model, the chipset driver also controls the touchpad interface.

Get the latest AMD Chipset Drivers from AMD’s official site:

After installing, reboot and check touchpad again.

Step 5: BIOS setting check

Sometimes Windows update disables the touchpad at firmware level.

Restart → keep tapping Esc → F10 (to enter BIOS).

Look for System Configuration → Internal Pointing Device.

Make sure it’s Enabled.

Save & Exit (F10).

Step 6: Windows Update

Go to Settings → Windows Update → Advanced options → Optional updates.

Check if there’s a driver update for touchpad.

Install → Restart.

If still not working

Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) → press Esc → F2 at startup → test touchpad.

If test fails, touchpad hardware might have failed.
