I have an old (2011) HP dv7-4272us notebook. It came with Windows 7 64-bit version. It has the AMD Phenom II P860 processor. I recently upgraded to Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro. I was wondering if there is a BIOS update that I need to install. The BIOS update page for this notebook only addresses Windows 7.
Also, my computer runs hot, and did before I upgraded. It doesn't seem to have a dust problem. Suggestions?
Thanks.

Sorry, but I don't have very good news for you ...
With your actions, you have created two issues -- neither of which we are able to fix.
1) Installed Embedded version of Windows -- HP only supports the OS that comes preinstalled on the PC, when you installed something very different, you took over responsibility for maintaining this PC.
2) Drivers -- HP only supplies drivers for the preinstalled OS, in this case, Win7. While these drivers MIGHT work in Win8, that is unlikely, and since you're running an unsupported OS version, HP has no drivers for that.
I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP
