Example: Pavilion cd0077tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When notebook opened first time, it strat showing warranty already activated one month back. How it is possible? As warranty can be activated only when first time laptop linked with the hp site or as per invoice date, whichever earlier. Further, warranty activation date is after the date of import to my country i.e. it is also not an manufacturing date.

Hi:

See if you can submit an online warranty dispute by following the instructions at the link below...

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05084516

If you can't do it online, you will have to contact HP support in the country you live in to get the warranty start and end dates adjusted.

You'll have to get in touch with HP directly.

Start at the link I posted above, or you can try contacting the HP executive team at the link below.

If you're having trouble submitting proof of purchase to validate warranty, I had the exact same experience with HP's website (see my post here). This is what finally worked for me (to get the form submitted successfully):

  • Fill in all required information at https://support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty.
  • Use the "Dispute" link at the bottom of the warranty results page.
  • Fill in all required information on the dispute form.
  • Click the radio button indicating you'll attach proof of purchase (even if it's already selected).
  • This is the important part: attach your receipt in a format OTHER THAN .PDF (I ended up using a .PNG image file).

The times I tried submitting the form with a .PDF attached the website returned "HP Customer Support site is temporarily unavailable." After submitting with .PNG image I promptly received an automated email with case number.

By giving invoice copy HP is modifying warranty date. But technically prior to first boot up by the customer or manually updating warrant date by the HP, online warranty of the laptop can never be activated. Thus, for your own protection, kindly check laptop received with pre activated warranty. Whether it is new one or open box piece.

I'm glad you were able to make contact with HP on this, @MANISHSINGHAL. I only replied to your post as a courtesy in case you had not been taken care of already. If your issue is resolved please mark this thread as "solved" so that others will know. 🙂
