I also have the same question.  I have an older model pavilion desktop 590-p0044.  I also see another potential update software component 4.2.1608.0.  It would be helpful if there was a fix page that listed these and what they were general for.  Thanks.

I am also unable to identify HP In - Software Component 4.2.1608.0   

 

I have been through this with HP--and they had no answers--they litterally asked me  "Well, what's wrong with your device?  Is it working?"   Then they gave me a pass for 24-hrs of tech support.    

 

Hopefully this is resolved here
