Are you serious?

Instead of fixing the bugs in their software, they created a whole new process that sits there waiting for their software to crash so that it can restart it?

HP Recommended

It's not really 'their software', Intel/Realtek/Broadcom create the drivers and Microsoft builds the OS. There can go something wrong in either of these, so I understand this tool is there to circumvent this if any software-link in the wireless-chain breaks.

Dear, if you have a great windows 10, then you may need help of this tool faster than you think. it's not so long ago that the update came up, which removed the drivers, but it did not record new ones. And without any sign of problems in the device manager!

I have read all the replies, and I think I finally have the reason why my PC (HP Envy 17 laptop) keeps getting the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death).  When it crashes, it has an archaic message about the software finding a problem, start the shutdown process and get the details for the shutdown, then shuts down to reset based on the problems.

Then it automatically reboots to the login screen.

It has been doing this for months; there have been no solutions (that work) on the internet, but at least I know for sure that the process is working, even though the HP Support for this PC ended last year.

All this time I thought it was in irreconcilable bug, but now realize the process is working as intended.

Thank you for this information,

Robert
